Frequently asked questions
My child is a first time rider, do we need equipment or gear?
We understand! Summer Camp is a perfect way to introduce your child to the equestrian world. We strive to provide gear to first time riders while they're still learning about the sport. Indicate your rider's need in the message section of the registration form and we will do our best to accomidate your little rider.
Does registration guarantee enrollment?
No, however, a 50% deposit can ensure we save a saddle for you. Checks must be made to Arroyo Canyon Riders. Full amount must be paid by May 15th to maintian enrollment.
Are there extended hours?
No, campers must be picked up by 3pm.
Can my camper attend more than one camp session?
Yes! Simply note the camp dates you'd like and ensure a 50% deposit is applied to all the dates you wish to attend.
What does my child wear for camp?
Long pants, close-toed shoes, hat and sunscreen.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
Water, lunch, snacks and sunscreen.

Arroyo Canyon Riders Summer Camp at Altadena Stables prides their program in educating campers from the ground up about horse care. From grooming to bathing to giving treats, the riders will experience the full meaning of horsemanship. Allowing the campers to care for their animals helps build a bond between the rider and the horse.
